Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the impact of financial capability on financial satisfaction the impact of financial satisfaction on financial well-being and the impact of financial well-being on students academic performance. The background of this study is the increasing financial problems faced by students during higher education which are considered to affect their academic performance. The method used in this study is quantitative with a survey approach where data were collected from 260 student respondents from the Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Accounting Education study programs. For data analysis the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique based on Partial Least Square (PLS) was used. The results of this study indicate that (1) financial capability has a positive and significant influence on financial satisfaction (2) financial satisfaction has a positive and significant influence on financial well-being but (3) financial well-being does not have a significant influence on students academic performance. These findings indicate that good financial management can improve financial satisfaction and well-being but financial well-being is not the main factor that determines students academic success.
