This research is motivated by the low interest of students of the Accounting Education Study Program State University of Malang in participating in the Independent Student Exchange Program (PMM). The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of perception and social support on students interest in participating in PMM. Data collection was conducted through a survey research design with a research population including active students of Accounting Education State University of Malang and a sample of 202 students obtained by applying a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument has passed the validity test stage before data analysis was carried out through the application of multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS 27 application. The research findings revealed that perception and social support have a positive influence on students interest in participating in PMM with a contribution of 35.4%. The research findings can also be implied as an indirect evaluation of the effectiveness of the PMM introduction strategy from the student perspective and as the development of a predictive model of autonomous motivation (self-determined motivation) in the context of BKP-MBKM and PMM through perception and social support as initial determinants.
