The aim of this study is to determine the effect of application of the POE learning model equipped by Instagram on the improvement of learning achievement in temperature and heat materials. This research is experimental research with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Malang City with a sample of 28 students selected through cluster random sampling. The instruments used in the research include learning tools and data collection. Learning tools include teaching modules and Instagram media. Referring to the studies that have been conducted it is concluded that the t-test using a paired sample test showed a significance value of 0 00 (p le 0 05) which indicates a significant difference between the learning achievement of students before and after the implementation of learning using the POE learning model equipped by Instagram. The results of the average n-gain analysis indicated an increase in student learning achievement of 0 52 with moderate keriteria. The average score of students learning achievement before being treated was 52 53 increased to 77 00 after being given treatment. The results of the n-gain analysis of each question item are known that students still have difficulty when working on problems related to the representation of graphs on the relationship between temperature and heat expansion and heat transfer. In this study it was found that the role of Instagram media as a complement to the POE learning model in conveying syntax observed in material that cannot be simulated it is necessary to improve the delivery method. In this study it was also found that students did not understand the relationship between temperature and heat conveyed in the graph representation. This is because students do not focus when given the material. Students also consider that graphical representations are more difficult to understand than numerical representations or mathematical equations. Another thing shows that classroom learning has become more conducive and directed. The syntax conveyed through Instagram media is clear so that it helps teachers in carrying out the learning flow to be in accordance with the lesson plans that have been made. Students are also actively involved in the online and offline discussion process and conduct simulations. Likewise the final assignment in the form of a work uploaded on each student s Instagram account as a whole is very creative and interesting.
