In the past few years the phenomenon of international teaching practicum has become a global trend among higher educational institutions in response to the increased demand for internationally competent graduates. This study aims to explore the experiences of Indonesian pre-service teachers (PSTs) of English during their teaching practicum in Thai institutions. It investigates teaching contexts strategies challenges and knowledge construction of the PSTs. Employing a descriptive qualitative method the data were collected from three purposefully selected PSTs using reflective essays and in-depth interviews. Through thematic analysis the findings showed that although some unique challenges such as language barrier and pedagogical adaptations were encountered by the PSTs the program has offered meaningful professional development for them by fostering reflection innovation and awareness of PSTs rsquo teaching identities in real classroom settings. Thus the study recommends incorporating similar international programs into teacher education curricula to better prepare graduates for the reality of global education.
