This research is motivated by the problem of low critical thinking ability which will then be treated with the Discovery Learning model so that the purpose of this study is to see the effect of the Discovery Learning model on students critical thinking ability. Furthermore this research will use a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental type where data will be collected through questions in the form of descriptions. The Independent Sample t-test will be used to see if there is a difference between the experimental and control classes. The result of the Independent Sample t-test was 0.037 where the value was less than 0.05. The difference between the experimental class and the control class is due to the difference in student activities in learning. In the experimental class students will go through the stage of finding out their own knowledge through observation to collect information that will later process the information so that it requires higher student abilities while the control class gets a direct explanation from the teacher and does not go through the process like an experimental class. Thus the effect of the Discovery Learning model is seen from the process of stages that students go through in learning so that it will affect students critical thinking ability.
