p Originating from the marriage is scary trend on social media which reflects fears about marriage. This study highlights the role of the ideal partner as one of the crucial factors in determining marriage readiness. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between ideal partner and marriage readiness among emerging adult social media users. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational design. A total of 111 emerging adults aged 18 ndash 25 years were selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Ideal Partner Scale and the Criteria Marriage Readiness Questionnaire (CMRQ) both of which had undergone an adaptation process. Data analysis using Spearman rsquo s rho correlation showed a coefficient of 0.308 with a significance level of 0.001 (p lt 0.05) indicating a significant positive yet weak correlation between ideal partner and marriage readiness. These findings suggest that the higher the criteria individuals set for an ideal partner in seeking a spouse the higher the standards that must be met to be considered ready for marriage. However since the strength of the relationship was low the connection between the two variables does not always occur consistently across individuals. /p
