Abstract

The use of local ecological knowledge and fisheries applications are always intertwined and go hand in hand in helping traditional fishermen carry out fishing activities to obtain fish catches. This study discusses the implementation of Local Ecological Knowledge in the midst of the use of fisheries applications in dealing with climate change by traditional fishermen in Sidokumpul Village. The theory used is the Social-Ecological System (SES) theory proposed by Elinor Ostrom. The selected location is located in Sidokumpul Village Paciran District Lamongan Regency East Java Province. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative through a narative research approach. Data collection carried out by researchers includes observation interviews and documentation as well as several literature studies related to this research. The technique for determining informants was taken using a purposive sampling technique. In-depth interviews were conducted by researchers by selecting several informants who met the specified criteria including key informants namely the head of the Fishermen s Association and the head of HNSI the head of KNTI and supporting informants namely traditional fishermen of Sidokumpul Village. From the results of the analysis of this study it was found that local ecological knowledge and fisheries applications have their respective proportions in their use. Although fishing apps are easier to use traditional fishermen still rely on local ecological knowledge when fishing. They also use apps to monitor the weather making it more effective and practical due to the year-round variability. Therefore both are still used preserved and their social networks are maintained sharing information between users.
