Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning motivation of students in Arabic classes at MANPK Jombang despite their daily exposure to Arabic in the dormitory environment. The conventional classroom instruction was considered less engaging and unable to effectively stimulate students rsquo interest. This research aimed to examine the change in students learning motivation before and after using Wordwall media and to analyze its influence on improving their motivation. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument was a motivation questionnaire and data were analyzed using mean scores and the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) formula. The findings revealed an increase in the average motivation score from 2 33 to 2 86 with an N-Gain score of 0 317 which falls into the moderate category. Qualitative data also indicated that students became more enthusiastic confident and actively involved in the learning process. Wordwall successfully created a more enjoyable interactive and competitive classroom atmosphere. Thus Wordwall is recommended as an effective alternative learning media to enhance students rsquo motivation in learning Arabic particularly in Islamic boarding school environments.
