Cognitive biases are errors in the decision-making process such as overconfidence biases which is excessive overconfidence in one s own abilities herding biases which is the tendency to follow the majority s decisions in the market and availability bias which is making decisions based on easily accessible information. On the other hand social media plays a role in influencing investors decisions as it serves as a platform for exchanging opinions and interacting. This study aims to determine the role of social media in moderating the influence of cognitive biases on investment decisions of Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) students in Malang City through a quantitative study approach. Data were collected through research instruments distributed to all respondents according to the research sample representing the population namely KSPM students from Malang State University (UM) the Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) at Brawijaya University (UB) and the Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) at Muhammadiyah University Malang (UMM). The results of the study indicate that cognitive biases overconfidence biases herding biases and availability biases directly have a positive and significant influence on the investment decisions of KSPM students in Malang City. The role of social media does not influence overconfidence bias and availability bias on investment decisions. However social media acts as a moderator that alters the direction of the relationship between herding bias and investment decisions among KSPM students in Malang City. This study emphasizes the importance of being sensitive to indications of bias that emerge in investment decision-making. /p
