p This research examines the representation of women on truck rear panels in Indonesia employing a visual content analysis and multimodal discourse analysis approach. Data in the form of images and text was collected from truck panels uploaded through various digital platforms. This research aims to reveal how meaning is formed through the relationship between visual and verbal elements as well as how such representations reflect gender ideology in society. The theory of Ideational Inter-semiotic Complementarity was used to analyze the relationship between text and images. In contrast the theory of Man-Made Language was employed to examine the construction of gender through language. Based on the research findings the representation of women on truck rear panels reflects society s perspective on women through four main constructions women as obedient figures women as male fantasy figures women as moral reminders and women as visual attractions. Of the 26 data points analyzed 13 showed a harmonious relationship between text and image while the rest appeared to be unsupportive or contradictory. The conclusion of this study suggests that the representation of women on truck panels serves not only as visual entertainment or street art expression but also reflects the social constructions of women in society. /p
