Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis desain poster film em Mencuri Raden Saleh /em karena pada dasarnya memiliki nilai keindahan. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif analitik. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah dokumen studi pustaka serta wawancara 2 validator ahli media estetika sebagai triangulasi. Poster film em Mencuri Raden Saleh /em memiliki keragaman unsur sehingga mempengaruhi nilai estetika. Hasil penelitian yang dianalisis menggunakan 4 tahap analisis formalistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan dalam poster film Mencuri Raden Saleh nilai estetika terbagi menjadi 4 tahap formalistik yakni deskripsi analisis formal interpretasi dan evaluasi. Berdasarkan hal ini dapat diketahui nilai estetika pada poster film em Mencuri Raden Saleh /em memiliki aspek deskripsi yang berbeda. Kemudian analisis formal 6 poster cenderung terdapat kesamaan pada bagian unsur em layout /em . Interpretasi masing-masing pada 6 poster memiliki gagasan tersendiri dalam menginterpretasi film ke dalam poster.
