Following the mentioned theory are Stockl rsquo s (2005) typography sign systems as well as Halliday and Webster rsquo s (2009) appropriate use of intonation patterns necessary frameworks to help this study reaches its goal to find the types of onomatopoeia inside Little Dim Sum Warriors. The steps taken in conducting this study are 1) read the comic books to gather the onomatopoeia aspects and 2) take screenshot to analyse each type of onomatopoeia regarding each respective theory. The study found that the series used direct and associative onomatopoeia with various intonational patterns and distinguished typographic sign systems. By having these aspects of onomatopoeia in the series it both supports and helps young learners to understand the materials easily.
