Fachrurrazy M.A. Ph.D. Key words accelerated learning through master technique writing skill and recount paragraph. This study is aimed at improving the ability of the eighth grade students of MTs Negeri Tuban in writing paragraph by applying Accelerated Learning Technique. This technique is selected based on its strength in encouraging students to be more actively involved in teaching and learning process with the intention that their ability in writing recount paragraph increases. The research problem formulated in this research is How can the use of Accelerated Learning Method through Master Technique (ALT) improve students writing skill at MTs Negeri Tuban To achieve the purpose a collaborative classroom action research was employed following four stages planning implementing observing and reflecting. This study was implemented in two cycles with four meetings. The subjects of the research were 47 students of grade VIII A of MTs Negeri Tuban in 2008/2009 academic year. The instruments employed to collect the data were observation checklists field notes and questionnaires for the students. The data were analyzed to obtain the findings of the research. The findings of the study indicated that the appropriate models used in Accelerated Learning Method through Master Technique Presenting introduction motivating students presenting adequate media (pictures LCD projector) playing compatible instrumental music as background giving model of recount text presenting explanation briefly how to write a recount paragraph and giving chance for students to give questions if they did not understand yet suggesting students to get relaxation asking students to close eyes and suggesting students to get imagination pairing and grouping students asking students to tell their imagination to their couples or groups giving chance for students to create mind mapping giving chance for students to compose recount text giving chance for students to exhibit their recount text by reading to the groups and to the class giving chance for students to exhibit their recount text by sticking their products on the wall giving feedback for the products doing reflection by giving chance for some students to comment and asking about difficulty and feeling. Furthermore the results of the study revealed that the Accelerated Learning Method through Master Technique could improve the writing ability of the eighth grade students of MTs Negeri Tuban in writing recount paragraphs. The improvement was indicated by the increase of the students average writing scores from 59.04 in the preliminary test 66.84 in the first cycle and 81.74 in the second cycle. The result of cycle 2 had met criteria of success which requires 75.00 in average. Besides the results of the study showed that the students were enthusiastic motivated and actively involved in teaching and learning process using Accelerated Learning technique. There are some suggestions to offer for English teachers based on the research findings and discussion. It is suggested that the English teachers implement the technique as an alternative technique or strategy in English instruction in addition to other strategies and create the student-centred instruction. It is also is recommended that the teachers learn about the paradigm of brain work. Because it is important to maximize mind power in order to get easiness in generating ideas process of imagination and self-confidence. The next recommendation is the teachers should replicate in implementing this technique spread out not only for English subject but also to teach other subjects since it is content-free technique such as mathematics science history etc. It is worth a try this technique as often as possible. And the last is for up coming researchers I do hope that there will be the same other kinds of more qualified research in order to prove that Accelerated Learning Method through Master Technique is effective in improving students achievement not only in English but also in all subjects.
