Abstract

There are lots of media in learning English that make learning activities fun and not monotonous. One of them is the use of matching card media in learning English. This research seeks to find out the information in details of using matching card media in learning English Narrative texts. This research focuses on discussions related to how to use what are the reasons teacher use and how students perception regarding using matching cards in learning English narrative text. This research uses a case study design by collecting documentation observation and interview. The results of the data that have been carried out are analyzed descriptively. The results of this research shows implementing matching cards carried out in 3 stages introduction group work and matching it Teachers use this media because it makes students more creative easy to use and makes students understand the material better. Students perception shows a positive trend as evidenced by the fact interviewed with the students that they are really happy likes and enjoy this learning media because it can train cooperation in groups the good side of the competition and student creativity. Based on research results this matching card media also shows that students have a good understanding of narrative text learning material. This media can be continued in learning English at that school because it has been proven to be very useful for the learning process.
