Writing skills have always been important for education in Indonesia especially writing in English subjects related to Expository Texts. Currently it is still widely found that school students experience difficulties in understanding and writing expository texts. Given this situation the research developed expository text material which was packaged through interactive learning media using the Lectora Inspire application for students writing skills. This research was conducted at one of the state high schools in East Java Province Indonesia. This Research and Development (R amp D) adapts the ADDIE model (Analysis Design Develop Implement Evaluate). In the needs analysis the instruments used consist of 2 types of instruments namely interviews and questionnaires the questionnaires are distributed to 40 students. Then at the design stage researchers design learning content including learning objectives learning materials activities learning strategies and assignments. At the development stage researchers use the features available in Lectora Inspire to develop products. Furthermore the product is validated by 2 validators and implemented in class. The last stage is evaluation where researchers evaluate the product by adding several parts of the page in Lectora Inspire so that better and maximum final results are obtained. The results of the needs analysis confirm that these students have obstacles in understanding and developing writing in expository texts due to a lack of attractive learning media facilities that can motivate students to learn related expository text material. These results are used as a basis for determining the objectives for creating learning materials. Therefore the Lectora Inspire application was chosen to solve this student problem. Because Lectora Inspire is an application that is easy to operate and interesting besides that in their school there is no media like this. The final product of this research was designed in the form of exposition text material designed by Lectora Inspire a guidebook and presentation of exposition text learning materials by using lectora inspire. For further research it is recommended that the trial be carried out more than once to better understand the maximum results achieved.
