The result of the study shows that the existence of Sakura Palace has become a regional tourism icon which provides jobs for the surrounding community including women. The relationship between tourism and the surrounding community is quite good since in development and operational activities the tourism party always prioritizes the contribution of the surrounding community. Furthermore the women participate in the construction of tourist attractions such as providing consumption and when the Sakura Palace has operated the women also work at the Sakura Palace spot. Women s decision to conduct dual role of being a housewife and working has been supported by the family due to increasing economic needs. The results of the analysis of rational choices made by women that is by working as food and beverage sellers at the Sakura Palace are based on economic and social factors. In addition women s decision to work in tourist spots as food sellers is chosen because of the consideration that tourist sites are close to home besides it does not take too much time to complete household chores.
