Junior High Students are individuals aged between 12-15 years where in the span of life categorized into the age of puberty or early teens. At this time the individual has to find their own identity that is very susceptible to pressure and influence from others. At this time the teenager is less able to understand their own concepts they still likel to be imitate the style or behavior of people who admired. The self concepts is individual own view of their self. Self-concept consists of positive and negative self-concept. Positive self-concept indicated by the existence of a realistic knowledge (in accordance with reality) about the condition of the individual self. Conversely negative self-concept is when a person can not judge himself. Social adjustment is a dynamic process that aims to change individual behavior to occur more appropriate relationship between the individual with the environment. It can also be described as an individual s ability to adjust to the situation in their and in the social environment in accordance with the norms that exist in a healthy manner without causing conflict for themselves and the social environment that leads into a harmonious balance in life. Someone who has a positive assessment of their will be able to adapt well. Good social adjustment will assist in the development and achievement of students This study aims to determine (1) self-concept class VIII Doko SMP Negeri 2 Doko Dictrict Blitar 2) class VIII student s social adjustment SMP Negeri 2 Doko District Blitar (3) the relationship between self-concept and social adjustment class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Doko District Blitar. The design used in this study are correlational descriptive with a population of eighth grade junior high school. Proportional sampling using random sampling. 57 people is taken as the sample. This study used two instruments namely questionnaire self-concept and social adjustment questionnaire. The results of this study were analyzed by using percentage and product moment correlation analysis. The results showed that very few students who have very positive self-concept many students who have positive self-concept quite a lot of students who have negative self-concept and very few students who have very negative self-concept. For the analysis of social adjustment obtained very few students who have very positive social adjustment many students who have high social adjustment quite a lot of students who have low level of social adjustment and very few students who have very low social adjustment. From the analysis there was a significant correlation between self-concept and social adjustment The results of this study can be considered to school with a better understanding of the level of self-concept of students who also had something to do with social adjustment of students. For the teachers they have to help students discover a positive self-concept. Due to a positive self-concept students will easily recognize the character and personality so they will be more confident in their activities as social beings that interact with others and can put there self in a new environment. For the counselor they may provide personal counseling services that will get the cause of children who have negative self-concept so that children will be have a better understanding for their lact and how to react beside that the counselor can provide placement services particularly for placement in a group of children are able to adjust themselves in groups.
