Abstract

Keywords periphyton Distribution Pattern Muddy Coastal Ecosystems Rejoso beach is a beach that has a long coastline of 2000 m and a muddy beach. Mud coast is the result of sedimentation of clay and fine particles carried by currents and waves Rejoso River. In the coastal plain muddy green microalga commonly found on the surface of the brown mud at low tide. Periphyton are organisms that are generally small live attached to a substrate. so it can be used to describe the condition of the water quality. As primary producers where periphyton is a contribution to biodiversity in marine waters. The role of diatom periphyton in aquatic ecosystems is very important because it is the producers in the food chain as a producer of organic matter and oxygen. Diatom flora periphyton as a very important role because it can multiply quickly so useful as food for invertebrates and fish in the aquatic ecosystem. The research was conducted at the Muddy Coastal Ecosystems Coastal Rejoso Patuguran village Pasuruan which aims to determine the types and patterns of periphyton food distribution as well as the interaction of abiotic factors on periphyton food distribution patterns. The research was conducted in April 2011. This research is a descriptive exploratory quantitative approach which describes the distribution patterns of periphyton as well as the interaction of abiotic factors. Data retrieval transactions are carried away by making transects transects away from mangroves and estuaries. To avoid mangrove transects taken 10 transects horizontally from the constraints of maximum ebb transect lines spaced 25 meters. Each transect made 10 plots with 5 m spacing between plots. The plot is made in the form of squares with sizes 1 x1 m2. As for the plot transects used away from the estuary views of gradation away from the mangrove transect. Thus there were 10 transects and transect spacing is 5 m. Each transect there were 10 plots with a distance of 25 m. Selanjunya account after all data has been collected both the sample and the measurement of abiotic faktror the microscopic observation periphyton then be identified and perhitungannnya. In this study 10 species were found that periphyton Pleurosigma sp Navicula sp Peridinium sp Chuspodothrix sp sp Thalassionema Melosira sp Pandorina sp sp Amphora Aulacoseira sp Microcystis sp. Calculation of mangrove transect diversity distribution patterns on transect 1 with the highest value of 14.9 while the lowest was in the distribution pattern of transect 2 with a value of 7.88. Calculation of diversity estuary transect the highest distribution patterns found on transect 10 with a value of 16.28 while the lowest was in the distribution pattern of transect 1 denfan value of 8.789. Environmental factors affecting the distribution pattern is pH and salinity.
