Kata kunci meaning of life sumber nilai budaya Samin siswa SMP Meaning of life siswa SMP budaya Samin adalah proses penemuan dan penilaian terhadap kehidupan yang berharga bernilai dan penting bagi siswa dan dapat dijadikan tujuan hidup. Proses penemuan meaning of life dapat melalui tiga sumber nilai yaitu creative values experiential values dan attitudinal values. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan meaning of life creative values experiential values dan attitudinal values dari siswa SMP budaya Samin. Kerangka teori ini berdasarkan pendapat dari Viktor Frankl yang menyatakan bahwa meaning of life merupakan proses penemuan isi dunia sekitar yang bermakna intrinsik secara individual melalui tiga jalan berbeda melakukan suatu perbuatan (creative values) mengalami sebuah nilai (experiential values) dan menyikapi penderitaan (attitudinal values). Penelitian ini menggunakan langkah-langkah dalam pendekatan kuantitatif diskriptif jenis survei yaitu (1) merumuskan masalah dan menentukan tujuan survei (2) menentukan konsep serta penggalian kajian pustaka (3) mengambil sampel (4) membuat dan menyusun inventori (5) melakukan uji lapangan (6) mengolah data (7) menganalisis dan melaporkan. Instrumen dikembangkan oleh penulis dalam bentuk inventori makna hidup siswa SMP budaya Samin. Teknik analisis data digunakan untuk menentukan frekuensi persentase standar deviasi skweness dengan bantuan program SPSS 20.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa SMP budaya Samin mampu menemukan meaning of life melalui tiga sumber nilai dengan experiential values menduduki persentase tertinggi (45%) yang kemudian diikuti attitudinal values (29%) dan creative values (26%). Secara khusus hasil ini menggambarkan bahwa pemenuhan meaning of life siswa SMP budaya Samin sesuai dengan budaya Samin yang mengutamakan penghayatan hati nurani terhadap nilai-nilai kehidupan sebelum bertindak dan menyikapi sesuatu. Konselor dapat menyesuaikan dan mengembangkan layanan di bidang akademik karier pribadi dan sosial dalam konteks meaning of life siswa SMP budaya Samin dengan langkah awal mengeksplorasi pengalaman (experiential values) siswa yang penting bernilai dan berharga. Kompetensi konselor baik personal maupun profesional diharapkan juga berkembang melalui pendekatan etik dan emik. Penelitian survei memberikan penjelasan awal gambaran meaning of life siswa SMP budaya Samin. Oleh karena itu disarankan bagi peneliti selanjutnya untuk menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif metode grounded theory sehingga memberikan gambaran lebih mendalam tentang meaning of life siswa SMP budaya Samin. Key words meaning of life sources of value Samin culture junior high school students Meaning of life of junior high school students from Samin culture is a process of discovery and assessment about life that worthwhile valuable and important for them and then it can be used as life goals. The process of discovery of meaning of life can be gained through three sources of value they are creative values experiential values and attitudinal values. This study aimed to describe the meaning of life creative values experiential values and attitudinal values of junior high school students in Samin culture. The framework of this study is based on Viktor Frankl s opinion who stated that the meaning of life is a discovery process of the world around which has intrinsic meaning individually and it is done through three different ways performing an act (creative values) experiencing a value (experiential values) and addressing the suffering ( attitudinal values). This study follows the steps of survey types in a descriptive quantitative approach the following steps are (1) formulating the problem and determining the survey s purposes (2) defining the concept as well as the excavation of a literature review (3) taking the samples (4) creating and preparing the inventory (5) field test (6) processing the data (7) analyzing and reporting. The instrument is in the form of meaning of life inventory of junior high school students in Samin culture which had been developed by the authors. Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis technique and SPSS 20.0 for Windows in order to determine the frequency percentage standard deviation skweness The results showed that junior high school students in Samin culture was able to find the meaning of life through three sources of value and experiential values reach the highest percentage (45%) followed by attitudinal (29%) and the creative value (26%). In particular these results reflect that the fulfillment of the meaning of life of junior high school students is in accordance with the teachings of Samin culture whose promotes the priority of appreciation of conscience against the values of life before they act and to address something. Meaning of life of junior high school students in Samin culture can be used as the basis for guidance and counseling services with ethical and emic approach. Thus the counselor can adjust and develop their services in the field of academic career personal and social students in Samin culture context. Competence of both personal and professional counselor is also expected to grow in line with the cultural context of students. Then this study tries to provide an overview of junior high school students meaning of life in Samin culture. For further research it is suggested to develop a counseling model of Samin culture in order to enhancing the students creative value because people in Samin Culture tends to prefer the experience and rather than realize it in action
