This research was inspired by the issue of character value that has increased recently as a result of amount of societal issues plaguing in Indonesia and as well as the phenomena of many improper textbook contents that we see around us. As a result teaching and learning materials should include character education values. This research aimed to describe (1) character education values found in the reading texts of English textbook entitled ldquo Bahasa Inggris SMA/MA/SMK/MAK Kelas X Kurikulum 2013 Edisi Revisi 2017 rdquo (2) techniques used in integrating character education values in the reading texts. This research was qualitative research using content analysis research as the data analysis method. The subject was 9 reading texts in the textbook. The object was 18 Character Education Values provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture (2010). The result found that among 18 Character Education Values there were 16 values found. With a percentage of 17.54% reading interest value is the most prominent. Meanwhile neither tolerance nor democratic values were mentioned. Furthermore 57.89% of the character values were integrated explicitly while 42.10% were integrated implicitly.
