Thesis Education Management Studies Program Post-graduate Program. State University of Malang. Supervisors (1) Prof. Dr. H. Hendyat Soetopo M.Pd (II) Dr. H. Kusmintardjo M.Pd. Keywords transformational leadership effective school. Many historical experiences which have been discovered successfully through various scientific works showed that there are significant implications transformational leadership toward effective school development in some advance educational institutions. Although the level of relations are various but generally in almost transformational leadership implementation have real advantages for the efforts of school effective development. Thus the transformational leadership phenomenon pointed out that many practitioners who concern in educations as the right leadership characteristic for every higher authority holder in school can introduce the educational institutions become effective school. MTs. Surya Buana as one of the famous private educational institution in Malang is evaluated as the school effective. In short time it has been growing up rapidly it can be seen MTs. Surya Buana has good educational facilities comfortable classrooms laboratory green houses etc. The majority of teaching staff who have high competency got magisterial degree from domestic university and abroad. The good implementation educational institutions brought many students of MTs Surya Buana got high academic achievement. So that with many proofs above MTs Surya Buana is evaluated as the educational institutional which has a certain quality excellent and credibility. This research is focused on looking for the answers 1) how does the implementation of transformational leadership increase the academic staffs works for effective school in MTs Surya Buana Malang 2) How does the actualize of transformational leadership able to manage MTs Surya Buana become effective school 3) How does the implication of transfotrmational leadership toward the effective school achievement in MTs. Surya Buana Malang . In order to make the comprehensive understanding easier this research uses qualitative approach with naturalistic paradigm. Primarily it comes from Max Webber opinion which is continued by Irwin Deutcher. It known as phenomenologist theory. This approach is also known as qualitative approach post positivistic ethnographic humanistic or study case. Through this approach it expected that social realistic and the perception of research objectives without formality measurement can be elaborated. The research technique uses many stories expressions of idiosyncratic about real affairs naturally. So that it will be done without researcher involvement the intervention toward happening process variable just the way they are and with molar and molecular scope. This approach is naturalistic because the field situation is natural. It also has analytic decrepitly. After the procedure of research was done there are some findings of this Research the implementation of transformational leadership to increase the academic staffs works and teaching and learning process to purpose effective school in MTs. Surya buana Malang can be seen with a) weekly evaluation every teacher based on the education activities which was done and the headmaster of MTs. Surya Buana Malang leads the activity to look for the solutions of the problems. b). the headmaster of MTs. Surya Buana accompanies and controls toward the teaching and learning process. c) the teachers are always given the chances to continue the study and follow some trainings in order to get the development of their scientific competences. The next findings in this research are it can be seen that the actualizing of implementations leadership in MTs. Surya Buana management and development for school effective a) vision and mission formulation which involve every school member b) The MTs Surya Buana headmaster initiatives every school member in vision and mission achievement c) MTs. Surya Buana Malang accompanies and controls continually so that every branches are able walk on their way. From MTs. Surya Buana headmaster implementation leadership series had implication for almost all effective school idealities achievement. Transformational leadership which had run has the implication for MTs Surya Buana Malang. It can be proven by the fact that the school is able does its functions maximally. They are economic function humanity and social politic function culture and also education function. So that transformational leadership is expected able to unite the headmaster mental outlook (mindset) in leading his school although it cannot be free from many challenges. Because transformational leadership not only does in a work context effectively but also able make a change. Moreover it runs special facilitative function for educational change contributes organizational improvement work effectiveness and school culture
