Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of digital comic media Kenali Tubanku based on local potential to increase interest in learning social studies in seventh grade students. The background of this research is based on the low interest of students in learning social studies so that learning media innovations are needed that are more interesting and easier to understand. This research uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model where the media is designed with an interesting visual narrative and equipped with video and audio features. The results of validation by material experts media experts and teachers ranged from feasible to very feasible . The field trial involved 30 students of class VII-D of SMPN 4 Tuban who responded positively to the media. Effectiveness analysis using paired t-test showed a significant increase in student interest with a p value of 0.000. These findings indicate that the digital comic Kenali Tubanku is feasible and effective as an interesting contextual learning media and able to increase students interest in social studies.
