This study examined the role of student leaders in developing the character of student-residents at the Al Kautsar Collage Student Islamic Boarding School in Malang City as part of non-academic development efforts within the pesantren environment. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation in-depth interviews and documentation. The findings showed that the student leaders played a significant role in instilling values such as leadership responsibility independence and religiosity through organizational activities daily routines and emotionally close relationships with fellow students. Supporting factors such as a conducive environment students rsquo enthusiasm for learning and parental support strengthened the character development process. However challenges such as a dense activity schedule overlapping commitments between pesantren and academic duties and a suboptimal organizational structure needed to be addressed. These findings confirmed that student leaders served as strategic agents in shaping students rsquo character holistically and contextually.
