Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between leg muscle explosive power and eye-hand coordination on the ability to perform jump serves in male volleyball athletes in Malang City specifically at the JVC Club. This study was designed using quantitative methods and a correlational descriptive approach to examine the relationship between variables involving 31 male athletes aged 16 ndash 18 years. The sample was determined using the total sampling method. The data collection process involved a number of instruments including a vertical jump test a wall toss test and a test of jump serve ability. Data processing in this study began with the application of normality tests linearity tests and Pearson correlation tests which were processed using IBM SPSS software version 25. The findings from the analysis indicate a significant correlation between leg muscle power (r 0.454 p 0.010) and eye-hand coordination (r 0.672 p 0.000) with jump service ability. Eye-hand coordination has a dominant influence on the quality of jump service while leg muscle explosive power plays an important supporting role. The findings of this study have significant implications for coaches particularly in designing training programs aimed at improving leg muscle power and hand-eye coordination to optimize athletes jump serve abilities.
