The purpose of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of using the RICOSRE learning model based on design thinking in developing problem-solving skills (PSS) of students in vocational accounting schools as well as to measure the improvement of these skills before and after the implementation of the design thinking-based RICOSRE learning model. The research approach applied was a quantitative research method of experimental type with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects involved grade X students at SMK Negeri 1 Boyolangu where class X AKL 1 consisting of 19 students served as the control group applying the discovery learning model while class The data collection instruments were pretest and posttest given to both groups which were compiled based on the problem-solving skills (PSS) indicators of the RICOSRE model. The analysis results showed a significant difference in posttest scores between the experimental group using the design thinking-based RICOSRE learning model and the control group using the discovery learning model. These findings confirm that the design thinking-based RICOSRE learning model is more effective in developing problem-solving skills (PSS) of vocational accounting students compared to the discovery learning model commonly applied in schools. This learning model can serve as an alternative learning option capable of actively and creatively training students higher-order thinking skills.
