Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education is gaining researchers rsquo attention yet limited research has examined the perception of English Language Education (ELE) master rsquo s degree students individuals positioned at the intersection of pedagogical theory and technological practice. This survey-based study investigates their perspectives on AI integration in teaching. The study involved 32 ELE master rsquo s degree students selected through convenience sampling from a population of 57. The data were collected through two instruments questionnaire as the main instrument and semi-structured interview as a complementary. The results reveal focuses on 4 main points knowledge attitudes practice and professional engagement. First ELE master rsquo s degree students relatively possess a high level of self-assessed knowledge about AI. Second they predominantly expressed positive views on AI integration in teaching with some concerns that arise. Third they positively engage in AI practice personally and professionally. Lastly regarding their professional engagement the result suggests that participants demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous professional development and ethical considerations regarding AI in teaching. However their engagement in external networking activities (communities seminars/webinars) is relatively low. This result suggests that educators should engage in more professional development focusing on practical and ethical implications of AI integration.
