Journaling activities after listening have been shown to increase enjoyment in many EFL students. This study aims to investigate the concept of enjoyment as well as the factors that influence students enjoyment in using journaling to support listening comprehension at the State University of Malang. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design and data were collected through questionnaires. The participants consisted of 50 second semester students of the English Language Education Study Program. The results showed that there were seven types of enjoyment experienced by students during journaling activities after listening based on concept of enjoyment theory a challenging activity that requires skills the merging of action and awareness clear goals and feedback concentration on the task at hand the paradox of control loss of self-consciousness the transformation of time. In addition internal and external factors also affect student enjoyment such as control and value. Therefore it is recommended that teachers pay attention to the enjoyment aspect in journaling activities after listening because maintaining a sense of enjoyment can increase engagement and make the activity more meaningful and enjoyable for students.
