Set out from English as a Foreign Language students rsquo (EFL) challenges at Universitas Negeri Malang in writing an essay this study wanted to investigate various perceptions of essay writing. Its significance to the study field is supporting broader perceptions and different contexts of the topic. To reach the aim the questionnaire was applied and analyzed using descriptive analysis based on six categories. Those are format behavioral intention to use in the future communicativeness perceived usefulness satisfaction and system quality. In the research there were 35 students sampled using convenience sampling. They were selected because they passed the Essay Writing course and utilized Padlet throughout the course. The results show that students rsquo perceptions are positive on average. It means that Padlet utilization confidently impacts students in the context of essay writing confidently on students. There is also a small amount of less positive perception of the topic. The utilization of Padlet might be considered to be applied to long-term educational needs in English language teaching to promote practical and fascinating essay writing learning among university students.
