Multiplication is a fundamental mathematical concept that is crucial for elementary school students to master as a foundation for further mathematics learning. However in practice third-grade elementary school students still experience difficulties in understanding multiplication both conceptually and procedurally and in solving word problems. This condition impacts student learning outcomes and motivation in mathematics. This study aims to describe the forms of learning difficulties in multiplication identify the factors causing these difficulties and analyze the strategies used by teachers to overcome them. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design and was conducted at SDN Pandanwangi 2 Malang City. The research subjects consisted of third-grade students who experienced difficulties in learning multiplication and the third-grade teacher selected through purposive sampling. The research design included the stages of planning implementation and reporting. Data were collected through questionnaires observations interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the interactive analysis model proposed by Miles Huberman and Salda ntilde a while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results showed that the learning difficulties in multiplication experienced by third-grade students included conceptual difficulties procedural difficulties and difficulties in solving verbal problems. The factors causing these difficulties consisted of internal factors such as low learning motivation lack of focus and low self-confidence as well as external factors such as limited parental guidance at home and less varied teaching methods. The strategies implemented by teachers to address these learning difficulties included the use of concrete learning media individual guidance remedial instruction peer tutoring and strengthening students learning motivation.
