Abstract

p Job stress is identified as one of the major challenges in the current era. Job stress occurs due to job demands many responsibilities and lack of social support. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of social support and job demands in relation to job stress experienced by Gen Z employees in East Java. This research was conducted using a quantitative method through a comparative causal approach. The population studied was Gen Z who had been working for ge 6 months in East Java. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling with 151 participants. The instruments used were the Job Stress Scale the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and the Job Demands-Resources Questionnaire. The results show that all dimensions of social support from family friends significant others and job demands collectively contribute to job stress both time stress and anxiety. However partially only job demands have a positive role in the dimensions of job stress both time stress and anxiety. Meanwhile social support whether from family friends or significant others has no role in the dimensions of job stress both time stress and anxiety. /p
