p Emotional eating is one form of maladaptive coping where individuals consume food in response to negative emotions such as stress. Therefore this study aims to analyze the effect of stress on emotional eating among female college students aged 18 ndash 25 years. The study used a quantitative correlational research design with a sample of 103 female college students selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected using the Perceived Stress Scale 10 (PSS-10) and the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire subscale for Emotional Eating (DEBQ-EE) and then analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that stress significantly influences emotional eating (Sig. 0.01) with a contribution of 18.8% (R sup2 0.188). These findings indicate that the higher the stress level the higher the tendency for female students to engage in emotional eating. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of mental health interventions and nutrition education in the campus environment to prevent long-term effects such as eating disorders. /p
