p Self-control is one of the things that helps teenagers make wise decisions and avoid impulsive actions that can have a negative impact on their lives. It s not just about holding back momentary desires but also about planning and considering each action for its long-term impact. Self-control is one of the important things when teenagers use social media. Social media is fun for teenagers because the platform gives teenagers the opportunity to fulfill various psychological and social needs that they feel. However if the use of social media is excessive it can have a negative impact on teenagers. This study aims to determine the role of social media use (Imaged-Based Comparison-Based Belief-Based Consumption-Based) on self-control in teenagers. The method used in the study is quantitative. The subjects of this study were teenagers aged 13-19 years. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. In this study 200 teenage participants were obtained. The instruments used were the Social Media Use Scale (SMU-S) and the Self-Control Scale (SCS). The results of the study showed that there was a role of social media use (Imaged-Based Comparison-Based Belief-Based Consumption-Based) (p lt 0.05). From these results the contribution of social media use (Image-Based) was 76.1% social media use (Comparison-Based) 6.4% social media use (Belief-Based) 85.8% and social media use (Consumption-Based) 92.8%. /p
