p Several developing countries have experienced a decline in manufacturing employment and value-added at lower per capita income levels compared to developed countries during the same process a condition known as premature deindustrialization. This phenomenon hampers technological and industrial advancement structural transformation and economic growth ultimately trapping countries in the middle-income trap. Therefore efforts are needed to reverse the deindustrialization trend by accelerating manufacturing growth. This study aims to analyze the influence of governance foreign direct investment (FDI) trade openness exchange rate and inflation on manufacturing growth in countries experiencing premature deindustrialization. The study employs Panel-Corrected Standard Error (PCSE) estimation on panel data from 27 countries that underwent premature deindustrialization during the period 2000 ndash 2022. The estimation results show that governance and FDI have no significant effect on manufacturing growth. In contrast trade openness and exchange rate have a negative and significant impact on manufacturing growth. Meanwhile inflation shows a positive and significant effect on manufacturing growth. Based on these findings it is recommended that governments prioritize reindustrialization strategies through institutional reforms enhancement of manufacturing competitiveness strengthening of import substitution policies and the promotion of synergy between fiscal and monetary policies to foster sustainable growth in the manufacturing sector.
