Abstract

p This study aims to analyze the mediating effect of person-job fit on the relationship between job crafting and career success at the Sentra Industri Tempe dan Keripik Tempe Sanan in Malang. Workers ability to adjust to job demands (job crafting) is essential for career success especially amidst the pandemic and global competition affecting the productive age group. However studies on the mediating role of person-job fit in the relationship between job crafting and career success remain limited. This study provides a fresh perspective by exploring person-job fit as a mediator between job crafting and career success using data from workers in the Sentra Industri Tempe dan Keripik Tempe Sanan Malang contributing strategically to human resource development in the SME sector. The research adopts a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design and employs the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. Data were collected through questionnaires completed by 100 workers selected using purposive sampling. The results revealed that job crafting positively and significantly influences person-job fit and career success. Person-job fit was also found to have a significant positive effect on career success and mediation analysis confirmed that person-job fit partially mediated the relationship between job crafting and career success. This study concludes that enhancing job crafting and aligning individual-job compatibility contributes to achieving career success. These findings provide valuable insights for business owners to improve work efficiency through human resource development /p
