p This study analyzes the representation of gender as performance and performative in the main character Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series Wednesday (2022). This is analyzes the Netflix series Wednesday (2022) using Film Studies to understand the theme of Feminism in the series. The results of the study show that Wednesday s gender as performance and performative shows resistance to traditional gender stereotypes both in visual aspects (dark clothing facial expressions that rarely smile) and verbal (direct and sarcastic dialogue). Moreover her defiance of feminine norms as she was more interested in dark and taboo subjects such as death mystery and violence led to a variety of different responses ranging from fascination to confusion or even fear. These traits position her as a challenger to traditional Western society rsquo s expectations of femininity. . These findings highlight how gender is an ongoing performance rather than an innate trait strengthening Butler rsquo s argument that gender identity is socially constructed. This study contributes to the broader discourse on gender representation in popular media by demonstrating how fictional characters like Wednesday Addams challenge and disrupt rigid gender binaries both within the narrative itself and by influencing broader societal perceptions of gender roles. /p
