p This research discusses the differences of slang use between generation X and Z in Indonesia using a descriptive qualitative approach. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of slang usage among generation X over time and the unique features of slang usage among generation Z in the context of the Indonesian language and English influence also to compare the use of slang by both generations in conveying similar meanings. Data were collected through a Google Form survey in which respondents from both generations and representatives were asked to rewrite standard words into the slang forms they use. The main findings of the study show that generation X experienced a gradual evolutionary tendency of slang heavily influenced by local culture and traditional media generation Z experienced a rapid and creative language revolutionary patterns through the influence of social media and global digital culture and there are significant differences in the form function and creativity of slang that reflect the differences in social and digital identity between the two generations. This research contributes to the study of intergenerational sociolinguistics and language dynamics in the digital era. /p
