This study discusses the phenomenon of illegal racing as a form of resistance to social control created by law enforcement officials to minimize illegal racing activities in Malang City. This study analyzes the forms of resistance carried out by illegal racers and understands this phenomenon by observing how the social identities of the perpetrators intersect to form a resistance. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study research design through observation and interviews documentation and literature study. The subjects in this study were six informants who were illegal street racers with at least two years of experience at the time of the study. The results of this study show that illegal street racing is not only a form of juvenile delinquency but also a form of resistance by refusing to participate in the Kanjuruhan Street Race because the regulations created do not reflect the aspirations or needs of illegal street racers and oppose the rigid social control imposed by law enforcement. The researcher used an intersectionality lens to understand how the social identities of illegal street racers play a role in shaping this resistance.
