Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of digital literacy and entrepreneurship literacy on entrepreneurial intention among students of the Economics Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Malang. The research is motivated by the urgency to increase the ratio of young entrepreneurs in Indonesia to meet the United Nations (UN) standard of 4% and to compete with the entrepreneurial ratios of other ASEAN countries. University students as part of the young generation have high potential in this regard due to their adequate knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship mdash such as basic concepts business management innovation and risk management mdash gained from entrepreneurship courses. This research employs a quantitative method with an explanatory approach. The population consists of 2021 cohort students from the Economics Education Program with a sample of 100 respondents selected using simple random sampling. This cohort was chosen because they have completed entrepreneurship courses. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that entrepreneurship literacy has a positive and significant effect on students rsquo entrepreneurial intentions while digital literacy does not have a significant effect when tested individually. However both variables combined have a significant simultaneous effect. Thus it can be concluded that entrepreneurial knowledge and skills play an essential role in encouraging students rsquo intention to start a business. Meanwhile high digital literacy needs to be directed more effectively to support productive and innovative activities such as entrepreneurship particularly for students in the Economics Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Malang.
