Abstract

The Independent Curriculum is designed to create more meaningful learning experiences by improving the quality of the education system to develop core competencies making the learning process enjoyable. One way to improve chemical understanding and process skills is through practical activities. However many schools still experience limitations in the provision of laboratory facilities and infrastructure such as incomplete equipment poor maintenance lack of attention to waste disposal safety issues in laboratories and the lack of practical guidebooks. The purpose of this study was to develop and determine the feasibility of a chemistry practical kit for salt hydrolysis and green chemistry using the green chemistry principles approach. This research is a research and development (R amp D) using a 3-D development model define design and develop. The assessment by validation experts resulted in an overall score of 88.21% with a very good score. Student responses to the chemistry practical kit achieved a score of 90.77% with a very good score.
