The present study explores the effectiveness of flipped learning model in enhancing students rsquo speaking skills. A quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach was employed to answer the research question 1) Do flipped learning vs. conventional teaching methods have different significant effects on the students rsquo speaking skills Data were collected using speaking tests which included pre-test and post-test. The non-probability sampling which is purposive sampling was used and two classes of tenth graders in SMAN 1 Malang were selected as the experimental and control groups. The collected data were analyzed statistically using SPSS 25. The research utilized the Independent Sample T-test to examine the hypotheses of the research. The findings indicated that students who received instruction through flipped learning model achieved significantly higher performance in the post test compared to those who were taught using traditional method. It can be concluded that the utilization of the flipped learning model has a substantial impact on students rsquo speaking abilities especially on pronounciation and vocabulary.
