Speaking helps young learners develop social skills by organizing their thoughts and expressing their feelings. Introducing speaking skills at an early age is essential to improve communication ability and self-confidence. This study aims to explore teacher rsquo s strategies to promote young learners rsquo willingness to speak and to find out what factors affect young learners rsquo willingness in speaking English. A descriptive qualitative is undertaken by interviewing a homeroom teacher and five students of 3rd grade in an International School in Malang. The data is analyzed by reducing the data displaying the data and drawing conclusion. The result of this study reveals that to promote young learners rsquo willingness in speaking English there are three main strategies that are establishing clear rules along with rewards and punishments implementing interactive activities and creating a supportive environment. These strategies are supported by factors of students rsquo willingness in speaking that are situational motivation and self-confidence. The result of this study brings implication for English teacher to consider a good classroom environment and choose speaking activities based on what young learners rsquo like to promote students rsquo willingness in speaking English.
