This study aims to investigate the role of platform X in enhancing students willingness to communicate (WTC) in writing within the Indonesian EFL context. Despite existing research on social media s impact on language learners there needs to be more studies specifically focusing on X. The present research explores the beneficial features of X for EFL students how their interactions on the platform reflect their WTC and their perceptions of how using X contributes to their WTC in writing. Using a descriptive phenomenological qualitative design data were collected through semi-structured interviews with four EFL learners from a public university in East Java selected for their active engagement with English content on X. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes related to WTC. The findings revealed that features such as quote posts hashtags and translation are beneficial. Additionally interactions on X are influenced by students comfort with the platform and content that interests them. Participants believe that the use of X enhances their WTC by boosting confidence and providing opportunities to interact with native speakers. This study suggests that the use of social media platforms especially X can improve EFL students willingness to communicate in English.
