Abstract

Early childhood literacy can be understood as a child s ability to recognize letters or symbols as well as the desire to understand writing and pictures. This study aims to develop a learning media Multisensory On Truck Alphabet to stimulate early literacy skills in children aged 4-5 years. This media is designed based on a multisensory approach that involves visual auditory and kinesthetic-tactile through interactive activities such as listening to audio letters arranging letter blocks writing in the sand and recognizing letters through picture cards. This study uses the Research and Development (R amp D) method with the development of the ADDIE model (Analysis Design Development Implementation and Evaluation). The trial subjects consisted of 37 children from three PAUD institutions in Malang City. The validation results from material experts media experts and users showed that the media developed was very feasible and effective for use in early literacy learning. This media has been proven to be able to increase children s interest in learning and involvement in the process of recognizing letters in a fun and meaningful way. This study recommends the use of multisensory media as an alternative to innovative early literacy learning in Early Childhood Education (PAUD).
