Abstract

Learning media is one of the important components in the learning process because it can facilitate teachers in delivering information and make it easier for students to understand the material. The digital era that is developing at this time is very influential in the development of learning media. Learning media has been affected by digitalization so that the media is more efficient in various ways but still able to attract the attention of students. At this time digital media is very popular with students starting from elementary school and advanced levels. The existence of this phenomenon teachers need learning media that is integrated with technology so that it can increase the motivation and enthusiasm of students to learn. This research aims to develop Virtual Laboratory media as a learning medium for light material that is valid by material and media experts practical according to users (teachers and students) and effective in improving students science process skills. The research used the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages namely analysis design development implementation and evaluation. Testing the effectiveness of the media using Paired Samples T-test and normalized gain test. Media validation from media experts received a score of 4.67. The material expert validation results received a score of 4.33 and 4.67. Practicality by teachers scored 4.83 and 3.54. The results of media practicality from students obtained a percentage of 99% for small scale and 98% for large scale. The effectiveness of Virtual Laboratory media on science process skills obtained a percentage of 68%. Based on the overall validation results and the Virtual Laboratory media trial the Virtual Laboratory media can be said to be very good/valid practical and effective enough to be used.
