Abstract

p This research discusses the use of folding bridges as an alternative in overcoming natural disasters that often occur in Indonesia. Folding bridges have been used before in Japan but this is still not commonly used in Indonesia. The use of folding bridges used in Japan has been designed to be passed by other than pedestrians namely vehicles with a maximum load of 13.8 kN. The folding bridge applied in Japan takes up to 5 minutes when the bridge will be stretched over the river. This research was conducted by determining the design of the folding bridge starting from the dimensions used to make test objects. The analysis carried out in this study is a numerical analysis of a folding bridge with a span size of 5000 mm using a longbolt type A490 bolt connection with a diameter of 12 mm. In the longbolt connection a ball bearing with a size of 32 mm is also installed as a driving force for the folding bridge when it is opened and closed. The main profile used in this study is the UNP profile with dimensions 75 x 40 x 5 mm. The steel girder used is a steel bordes plate with a thickness of 3 mm and plate specifications that have a pattern so that it does not slip easily. The manufacture of folding bridge test objects is focused as the main function for pedestrians when evacuated when the area experiences natural disasters. This research is focused on numerical analysis of static loads with the results of the deflection values given as well as the need for bolts used as connections on the main profile. Calculations related to the bolt requirements used refer to the requirements of SNI 1729 2020. Determination of the deflection value produced by the folding bridge that has been designed with the help of software refers to the requirements of RSNI T-03-2005. /p
