p The Sengguruh Dam in East Java which serves as a hydropower plant and water supply has been facing sedimentation issues leading to a 35% decrease in its storage capacity. To address this problem sediment flushing is being implemented involving the discharge of sediment through the ejector door to maintain storage capacity and prolong the dam s lifespan. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the flushing method using different analytical approaches namely the Mahmood Method Morris amp Fan Method and Ackers amp Thompson Method. The results indicate that flushing has become more effective over time with the Mahmood Method showing an increase in effectiveness from 0.23 to 0.48 and 0.36 to 0.56. However these values are still below the desired threshold of 1.0. Other methods namely Mahmood Method 3 Morris amp Fan and Ackers amp Thompson showed lower efficacy. The analysis also revealed an improvement in the dam s lifespan from 5 years in 2012 to 7.09 years in 2021 and 9.21 years in 2023. To enhance sediment management at Sengguruh Dam it is essential to optimize the flushing pattern by considering factors such as hydrology reservoir design and flushing duration. /p
