Abstract

p This study aims to conduct a systematic review regarding the influence of self-efficacy and Perceived Organizational Support (POS) on employee engagement in the business sector. The methodology applied in this research is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach as the reporting guideline. This study identifies and analyzes relevant articles from the Publish or Perish (PoP) Google Scholar database. The search results show that out of 100 articles identified using the keywords self-efficacy POS employee engagement and business sector 56 articles were found to be irrelevant due to limited access to Scopus-indexed journals. As a result 44 selected articles were further analyzed. This study provides evidence that self-efficacy and POS have a significant influence on improving employee engagement in the business sector. Although many previous studies have been conducted comprehensive reviews on the topics of self-efficacy POS and employee engagement in the business sector using the SLR method are still limited. The results of this study indicate that an effective combination of self-efficacy and POS can enhance engagement thereby creating a stronger synergistic effect compared to using only one of the two factors. /p
