The films delves into Jojo's journey of self-discovery as he grapples with conflicting beliefs and undergoes significant personal growth during a critical period of his life. The aim of this analysis is to examine Jojo s identity development through the lens of James Marcia s identity status theory within a film studies framework emphasizing the role of exploration and commitment in his character's transformation. Additionally the study highlights the perspectives of German children during the Nazi era drawing parallels to the impact of totalitarian values on youth in contemporary times.
