This study examines the representation of Javanese culture mainly its representation of social class in the Javanese adaptation of The Proposal written and directed by Abdul Mukhid in 2023. This study uses Cultural Studies to analyse the Javanese culture especially its social class from the elements of the performance video such as the character naming costumes settings and land ownership in Java. By observing the Javanese representation in the adaptation this study will identify the social class each character represented in Abdul Mukhid rsquo s version of The Proposal.
