Abstract

p Korean Wave has been a phenomenon in Indonesia because of the interest shown for its product such as K-Drama triggering youngsters to create a fandom. It triggered the curiosity of how the members of the fandom express their identity to make their existence widely known in Indonesia. This research was conducted to explore the identity of Indonesian K-Drama fans through language use and X features. The method that is used for this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this finding indicate that Indonesian K-Drama fans show their identity by the use of slang words and code-mixing when interacting with others. Moreover they show their identity through the use of social media features through bio and hashtag by mentioning Korean actors Korean drama titles and the fandom names. The sameness of their way to express their identity is by using three languages which are Indonesian Korean and English. Even though they use three different languages English is still playing an important role in their fandom as they tend to use it to find friends ask for support and review Korean dramas. /p
